Die Stadt Hannover
Im Jahr 1946 wurde das Bundesland Niedersachsen gegründet, seit jeher ist Hannover die Hauptstadt dieses Landes. In Hannover, der Stadt an der Leine, wohnen rund 520.000 Einwohner.
Die Stadt gehört zur Region Hannover, sie ist ein Teil der so genannten "Metropolregion Hannover-Braunschweig, und war Hauptstadt des gleichnamigen Landes. Bis heute finden in Hannover noch die meisten Messen statt und zudem bietet die Stadt viele interessante Sehenswürdigkeiten, die es zu entdecken lohnt.
Wie das Versailles in Paris, Schönbrunn in Wien oder Charlottenburg in Berlin, findet sich auch in Hannover ein wunderschönes Schloss mit dazugehörigem Garten; das Welfenschloss liegt in den zauberhaften "Herrenhäuser Gärten". Es ist das Hauptgebäude der Universität und kann natürlich besucht und zum Teil von Innen angesehen werden. Es ist ein einzigartiges sehr idyllisches Ensembel, mit einer perfekt angelegten Gartenarchitektur des 17. und 19. Jahrhunderts.
Wer es etwas weniger pompös, jedoch trotzdem alt liebt, kann zum Beispiel den "Holzmarkt" besuchen. Er findet sich am Ufer der Leine, in mitten von vielfältigen und zum Teil nachgebauten Fachwerkhäusern - welche schon eine Attraktion für sich sind. Früher wurde Holz über die Leine zum Holzmarkt gebracht, heute kann an dieser Stelle das Leibnizhaus und das Historische Museum besichtigt werden.
Ebenso lohnt es sich das Kestner-Museum mit seinen etlichen ägyptischen und griechischen Kleinkunstwerken zu besuchen.
Das bunte Leben und die wirklichen Hannoveraner finden sich alle in der "Markthalle" wieder. Hier kann aber nicht nur das bunte Verkaufstreiben beobachtet werden oder die Abgeordneten des Landtags beim Kaffeetrinken, sondern auch eine von den zahlreichen Köstlichkeiten verspeist werden. Zwischen Obst, Gemüse, Fleisch und Fisch, bieten viele Stände warme Speisen aus den frischesten Lebensmitteln an.
